1. Buy New Clothes
This has been a long tradition associated with Chinese New Year. It is a practice to wear Red from top to toe. Traditionally, Chinese would adorn traditional clothes such as the Sam Fu (for males) and Cheong Sam (for females) but these days many choose to wear clothes in bright red colours. If you don’t like wearing red, why not purchase some red underwear instead!
2. Get A New Haircut
They say new hair, new life! Leave the struggles behind and cut off the weight and dead ends and enter the new year with hope and positivity. For even more luck, dye your hair a bright red colour to attract more good luck!
3. Decorate the Home for the New Year
Regarding to Chinese New Year traditions, bright red and gold decorations will bring good luck and fortune into your homes! The most popular Chinese New Year decorations has got to be the big round and red Chinese lanterns. Hang two at your front door to drive off bad luck! Other popular Chinese New Year Decorations include door couplets, red paper cuttings and auspicious plants (kumquat trees, lucky bamboo and cherry blossoms!)
